OutREACH Updates for September

First of all, allow me to THANK YOU for an amazing summer of serving at The Cove! With your help we shared Christ’s love in many forms. Everything from stocking shelves at local food pantries, school supplies for children in our community, vacation bible schools in Costa Rica and building a cinder block home for a child headed household in South Africa. Thank you for participating in OutREACH at The Cove, and for joining with us in changing lives, minds, and communities through Jesus!

But let’s not stop there...Get ready to mark your calendar because this fall we have some great ways to get and keep you connected and serving at The Cove. Here are a couple updates, needs, and upcoming events to keep you in the know.

OutREACH Team Meeting: Thursday, September 15th at 7:00 pm * Mooresville Campus. Find out how to get connected and serve outside the walls of the church. You’ll hear about upcoming serving events like the “GO” week of serving, Christmas at The Cove and upcoming 2011/2012 mission trips. You’ll also hear a bit about all the different ministries we support and how YOU can make a difference.

“GO” week of serving: Monday, September 26th – Sunday, October 2nd * Mooresville, Statesville and Catawba Valley Campuses. In the book of Acts we learn about the early Church and how Christians would not let a brother or sister suffer when others had plenty. That’s what “GO” week at The Cove is all about, giving from our plenty: time, talent and resources. We’ll be out and about in our communities, and encouraging our church family to follow God and take a step into serving others and sharing the Good News.

Available projects will be across all three campuses, and will include work with community partners and Cove families.

Christmas at The Cove Serving Opportunities: Looking for a way to impact lives this Christmas season? If so, join with us in changing lives, minds, and communities through sharing the love of Jesus Christ. We have many serving opportunities available across all three campuses. Opportunities include decorating, event planning, handing out tags and shoeboxes during the weekend services, sorting shoeboxes, shopping, database entry, wrapping, and more. If you are interested, please e-mail Kim Peck at
kpech@covechurch.org for additional details and how to get involved. The work and love that you pour into this ministry means the world to children and their families.

Opportunities to serve 24/7: Looking for ways to get or stay connected this fall? Check out the Cove on Mission blog at http://coveonmission.blogspot.com .

Thank you for impacting our community and world by going beyond the walls of the church!
